Standing out in a crowded market.

I worked on the pitch and relaunch of ASDA Magazine for the supermarket retailer. I was briefed to give the customer magazine a different look and feel to the other supermarket magazines, picking up on what makes ASDA unique. I successfully presented a design strategy, focused on fun and value. I suggested working with The Great British Bake Off’s Kim Joy, and we commissioned her to develop some fun Halloween recipes for the launch issue. As well as pitching creative to the client, I was also responsible for art-directing photoshoots; designing the look and feel for the publication, including font sets, colour palette, grid and page structure; managing the design team, and finally press passing it.
